The Crown Canadian Investment Fund "A" financial statements have been renamed to the Canadian Equity Fund (SRA) SF274 financial statements. The change applies to the name only—no other changes were made to the fund.
The Canadian Equity Fund is a professionally managed investment fund made available to the Canadian policyholders of the company formerly known as Crown Life. The Fund is an investment vehicle for policyholder dividend accumulation and for holders of our investment fund accumulation annuity.
The basic philosophy applied to the Canadian Equity Fund is to seek above average returns over a 3 to 5 year term.
Policyholders are able to augment their plan's equity by investing their policy dividends or annuity fund in the Canadian Equity Fund. This Fund offers the opportunity for an above average rate of return through capital growth and investment income but with a necessarily greater risk.
The Canadian Equity Fund is managed by Scheer Rowlett & Associates, formerly known as Crown Life Investment Management Company (CLIMCO).
Details on the performance of the Canadian Equity Fund are as shown in the Annual Report.
